About Us

Sudbury Community House and Early Learning Centre.  A place of community, a place of belonging and becoming, where people feel accepted, safe, and free to develop and grow.

Sudbury House Early Learning Centre has been operating since 1986 in the community of Mirrabooka. Our Early Learning centre is a non-funded, not for profit service.  We rely solely on our parent fees to operate.

Sudbury House early Learning Centre is committed to creating a learning environment where all children feel a sense of belonging. From birth, children demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn, explore, create, and possess an extreme curiosity about their world.

Our educational programs and practices respond to the children’s interests and scaffold their learning and development. With highly qualified and experienced educators tailoring learning programs to suit each child’s individual need.

Our  4 & 5 year old Kindergarten program is lead by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher.

At Sudbury House Early Learning Centre, we endeavour to create an educational, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children feel safe and secure. We believe all children should be treated equally and with respect.

We believe in the attachment theory, primary caregivers who are available and responsive to the infant's needs allow the child to develop a sense of security. The infant knows that the caregiver is dependable, which creates a secure base for the child to then explore the world.

Our relationships with children and families are strengthened and we consistently explore and develop a deeper understanding of the diversity and culture of families and the broader community. We respectfully acknowledge and share our knowledge of the Whadjuk Noongar people as the first traditional custodians of this land on which we teach.

We believe the quality of each child's environment influences how they grow and develop and acknowledge families as children's first and most influential educators. We provide ongoing, high-quality professional development for our teams to ensure each Educator has a deep understanding of the holistic needs of each child and can reach their full potential.

We respect and welcome all contributions from children, families, and community members to our shared space of learning. By creating an inclusive environment our curriculum is enriched and each child's sense of belonging and development is enhanced, helping to create a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Following in the steps of the Noongar people we empower children to develop a true appreciation and love of the natural environment and its relationship to their world.

We encourage children to love and appreciate their world by being part of the environment and connecting with nature in their own way. Our role is to encourage children's wonder and investigation of nature, modelling protection and care of the environment through conversations, projects and taking real action. As we moel practices of sustainability, care, and love for the environment we share important values which children and families will take with them long after they leave our care.
